LMC's Ramblings & Things

Quick request: if you are going to follow me, and you know me in real life, please let me know who you are!

I'm a British engineering student.

My main obsessions in life are Glee and guns, or at least were. I describe myself now as a recovering Glee-holic. I still adore the earlier episodes, but have almost entirely given up on the current series because it makes me yell things at the TV, which I feel is a bad thing.

I'm still a total gun-nut, though, competing regularly at national and international level, and usually doing pretty darn well into the bargain. I'm in the British ladies' team, and we will be going to the World Championships in Hungary this year.

Anything I post about my life is tagged with, "things from my life" - I'm a highly inventive person when it comes to naming things.

My main fandoms are Glee, Doctor Who, Harry Potter and Downton Abbey, but I also frequently post bits of British comedy, both past and present.

I do my best to avoid spoilers in all fandoms, although I will post set pictures if I feel they aren't spoilery. And I can't promise to avoid any SBL set pictures, even if they are spoilery.

The realisation that Irene Adler’s riding crop would not look out of place with your outfit… priceless.

“I’ve got a hammer.”

~ Thor Girl

This has genuinely become a meme. Three people were all quoting this at MEng House yesterday. Not one of them had been there when it was first said. LARPy Guy and I were somewhat confused by this, given that we had been there.

I have been considering reading that. Should I?

Yes, yes, Gods above, yes! Make sure you read the first one first though - it’s The Name Of The Wind. The Wise Man’s Fear is the second book in the trilogy.

Case For Sunscreen of the Day: This man is 69 years old.
He drove a truck for 28 years.
The premature aging from sun damage to the left side of his face is extensive enough to warrant a feature in the New England Journal of Medicine.
Trucker or not, don’t forget your sunscreen.

This is why I am extra-specially annoyed that my college shop does not sell suncream. I burn, dammit! I’m pale!

Nice, Durex. Nice

Since when has America had Tesco’s?!

Given that the prices are in Euros, possibly this is from the ROI?

Ah yes, I am blind and mis-read it. Thankies!

Vashet shook a finger and cuffed the young girl on the side of the head. It was the same scolding any child receives. Stay out of the neighbour’s garden. Don’t tease the Benton’s sheep. Don’t play tag among the thousand spinning knives of your people’s sacred tree.
